Reduce Reuse Reanimate is a game that me and 3 of my friends made while participating in the New Anglia Game Jam, for the theme of sustainability. For it, we came up with the idea of recycling the enemies of the game after defeating them and I was in charge of all of the coding and engine work for the game.
The game jam lasted 5 days and at the end of it, we were all satisfied with what we had produced. And overall we won the award for best game mechanics.
I did all of the programming and in engine work for the game. I had to organize all of the scripts and assets within the folders of the game. Doing this meant I would have to take the assets, Made by the other members of the team, from the organized Trello board, and turn them into game objects based around the ideas made by the team(including myself).
I also took up a leadership role in the team. Guiding the workflow of the team and making sure that the game got finished within the time, and also making sure that we have a definitive plan of what we were going to.
Overall the development went smoothly, and once it had begun, the idea didn't change much, other than making the scope a bit too big and intending to have a boss covered in plastic at the end of the game, and that would have just taken too much time to make and would cause the game to be unfinished.
But other than that, there were no major issues during the development.
